Why are we making this change?

In June 2023, the Australian Government announced the decision to phase out the use of cheques in Australia by 2030. Cheque use has been rapidly declining over the last 10 years*. The provider People’s Choice used to facilitate member cheque facilities notified us that they were withdrawing this service in May 2024.

This decision aimed to modernise banking operations, enhance security measures, and simplify financial transactions for all.
